On Monday, October 17, 2011 the Director of Education at the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, Mrs. Patricia Amos, hosted a breakfast for the Prinicipals and staff representatives for the 2011 United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton Campaign. Also in attendance were student leaders from each high school. Dana Robbins, Chair of United Way Board of Directors and Len Lifchus, CEO of United Way were both in attendance to express their gratitude for all that the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board has contributed previously and to offer support to the team for this year’s campaign. There were guest speakers from three agencies receiving United Way funding. Mel Leggat and Karen Hartnett from Catholic Youth Organization, Sue Kennedy from Alternatives for Youth and Linda Daylor from Catholic Family Services shared the impact of United Way investment in programs offered by their organization. Special acknowledgement to the Co-Chairs of the campaign, Mr. Emidio Piccioni and Mrs. Mary Jane Rossi for their leadership. Special thanks go out to Marilena Barth, Special Projects Coordinator for all of her efforts. There is a great campaign team at HWCDSB and their efforts are essential to the success of the 2011 United Way Campaign.
