I remember the first day I started working with the United Way my boss (Marketing and Communications Director, Janyce Robinson) said to me: “you will need a full year working here to fully understand the job.” And boy was she right. There is a never ending cycle (campaign kick off, campaign, campaign wrap up, assessment and analysis, planning for next year, producing all the materials for the next campaign, campaign…) It is part of what makes working in the non-profit industry, and specifically, with the United Way so exciting. There is a constant flow of things to do, places to go, people to see and work to be done for our community.
So here we are now, approaching the summer and preparing for the next campaign.
We are very lucky to have the support of so many amazing folks in our community, and at the moment I am working with one particularly amazing group – the team at Banko Photographic. Dan Banko is working with us to produce a number of our campaing materials and the other day I accompanied him as he took photos of a great group of women who particiapte in the YWCA’s Women Alive! and Employment Support Services programs (both funded by the United Way).
