Weever Apps Inc. proudly announces the launch of United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton’s web based mobile app.
Weever Apps Inc., based in Hamilton Ontario, helps individuals and organizations, like the United Way to go mobile, instantly and affordably.
“The mobile web is growing – and fast! In fact, today, over half of all local internet searches are done on a mobile device. Yet 80% of small businesses and most not-for-profits have zero mobile web presence,” says Tim Richard, VP-Operations of Weever Apps Inc. “We understand both the financial limitations of not-for-profit organizations and the great work they do, so we wanted to do what we could to support our community.”
The United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton mobile app features information about the organization, including: ways to donate, how donations are allocated within the community, an e-newsletter sign up form and integrated social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook).
“With this app, we will be able to better connect with our community,” said Len Lifchus, United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton’s CEO. “The world is increasingly going mobile and we are thankful for this opportunity. This allows us to broaden our communications; members of the community can now connect with us in a way they most prefer – in person, on the phone, online and now on their mobile device.”
The United Way 2011 Campaign is 64% to reaching its goal of $6,999,999, with a total of $4,472,214 raised to date. The fundraising goal illustrates the importance of every donation; with every dollar donated, another program is provided with more funding, another child is fed and another life changes.
New donors are encouraged to visit the new mobile app to find out how they can donate to the United Way and provide support to those in-need in their community.
