  • How much does it cost?

  • Is this a legitimate form of fundraising?

Yes.  United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton mobile program has been set up in partnership with the Mobile Giving Foundation.  The Mobile Giving Foundation Canada (MFG-C) was founded in 2009 by veterans of the wireless industry, in partnership with the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and the support of the Canadian wireless operators, who wanted to harness the immense power of wireless communications to empower individuals to support their favourite causes.

  • What is the purpose of the Mobile Giving Foundation and how does it work?

The Mobile Giving Foundation Canada serves as the “glue” between a charitable organization, the wireless industry and the 23 million wireless users in Canada.  MGF-C processes and approves applications from Registered Charities wishing to use wireless technology in their communication and fundraising activities because they know it is critical to have a trusted third party – in this case, MGF-C, to affirm the quality and integrity of charities using this technology to solicit contributions.  For more information, visit www.mobilegiving.ca.
